The Golden Gopuram of Sharadamba in Sringeri!

HH Bharati Tirtha Swami and HH Vidhushekhara Bharati Swami, the Seers of Sharada Peetha at Sringeri, on Wednesday February 1, 2017 performed the Swarna Gopura Kumbhabhisheka at Sharadamba temple in the town.
This was a part of the 17-day Kumbhabhisheka celebrations, which began on January 28. Devotees from different parts of the country are participating.
The Swarna Gopura Kumbhabhisheka began around 9 a.m. with Bharati Tirtha Swamy performing abhisheka to the goddess inside the temple. Later, both the seers performed abhisheka above the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The water used for the rituals included samples from rivers Ganga, Tunga, Narmada, Godavari, Cauvery and Krishna, a release issued by Sharada Peetha said.
The Swarna Gopura Kumbabhishekam of Sri Saradamba temple, Sringeri, was performed on February 1. Sri Bharati Tirtha Swamigal and Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Swamigal of Sri Sarada Pitam, Sringeri, performed the consecration. Earlier, abishekam to Goddess Sharadamba was performed inside the temple with 108 kalasas.

In his Anugraha Bhashanam from atop the gopuram, Sri Bharati Tirtha Swami said that His Paramaguru, Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswami had consecrated the Goddess (installed by Adi Sankara) in the present granite temple structure in 1916.

The kumbabhisheka celebrations (Jan. 28-Feb. 13) include pujas, discourses, chants and music concerts.

Laksha Modaka Ganapati Homa was performed on Sunday. A number of religious events are being organised as part of the Kumbhabhisheka celebrations.
