Pradosham falls on the 13th day (Trayodashi) of every lunar fortnight in traditional Hindu calendar. Lord Shiva is worshipped on this day. On this day devotees of God Shiva observe fast from sunrise to sunset. Pradosh puja rituals are performed during the twilight period (Pradosham Time). According to Hindu lunar calendar Pradosham occurs twice in a month one in waxing moon period and one in the waning moon period.
In the above picture Pradosham Mama (with the garland) is seen with Kanchi Bala Periyava. Pradosham Mama rarely missed a Pradosham day to be at the Feet of Mahaswamigal! Picture courtesy mahaperiyavaa.wordpress.com.
