Ramas padam at a place called Kodiyakarai, which is around 55 Km from Nagapattinam.This 

is the location where Lord Sri Rama sees Sri Lanka as said in scriptures. Sri Lanka is very 

nearer from this location. Sri Ramar first choose this location to go to Sri Lanka. But since this 

route will reach backside (otherside) of Sri Lanka, He went to Lanka via Rameswaram Sethu 

Karai. Near Kodiyakarai Ramar padham is also called as Point Calimere. This forest is called 

as Kodiyakadu and one can see lot of Deers and Monkey. A beautiful place everybody must 

visit to have darshan of Ramar Thiruvadi!

Adi Shankara's ivory padukas in a golden case!

The below One is the Sri Paduka of Srimad Acharyal Himself (Adi Shankara), which is present in our SriMatam only and in no other Mutt. This Paduka, covered with several layers of gold, is actually made of ivory, and has imprints of Srimad Acharyal's Padaravindam. With this same Paduka, the Bala Sanyasin (Adi Shankara) made Bharatha holy by treading across, spreading Sanathana Dharma and Advaita Siddhantha.

The Paduka can be seen during the Deepa Namaskaram every evening.

Thanks a ton to Shri Sudarshan for this treasure. Just one look at it will erase all our sins!
