Very useful and informative. Why is the order of Acharyas in the first link not in time sequence? Any significance? Jaya Jaya Shankara, Hara Hara Shankara!
ReplyDeleteNot sure why it is not in the chronological order. Thanks for the kind words.
DeleteThe first link is sorted based on the Months in which those acharyas attained siddhi. these details are available in the backside of the Monthly calender issued by Srimatam.
DeleteIt is not in chronological order as it was printed in Sri Matam Calendar 2013 as per the Periyavaas Jayanthi and Aaradhanas accordingly by month...
DeleteThe first link : Its pages are from the 'back pages' of the Vijaya Samvatsaram (2013-14) Calender of Sri Matam. It is a monthly calendar. The backside of each month contains the names of the Acharyas who attained siddhi during that month.
ReplyDeleteHence the absence of the time sequence or chronological order'

Mahadevan, published by Sri Kamakoti Research Centre, Kumbakonam during 1988. A deeply researched book detailing info around (1) the Date of Sri Adi Sankara, (2) his connection witch Kanchi and (3) the 'avichinna' Sri Kamoti Parampara
